A Great Read!!!!
I gobbled this book up in a couple of days. I couldn't put it down once I had picked it up. I am a great lover of historical fiction and am glad to have this book as part of my library. If you've read other books on Nefertiti you'll really enjoy this rendition. It is told from the perspective of her sister who's viewpoint is withdrawn enough to bring you the reader right into the room.

Excellent read
Still reading this and have to say it's a real page turner: Politics, romance, power, intrigue. It's got it all. A fantastic read.

Not what I expected...still impressive.
My foremost impression of "Nefertiti", which I realized even before I finished it, was that it wasn't exactly what I had expected, though I don't mean this in a negative way.
It is everything good historical fiction should be: engaging, intriguing, well-researched, informative, and, most importantly, easy to relate to and feel a part of, though it takes place in an ancient, distant place. These things I expected and these things I got. What I did not expect was a rather intense dislike for the title character. It is not told from Nefertiti's perspective, nor can she be considered the heroine, in my opinion. But this does not take away from the books fascination and pull.
The relationships, while basic (at times, almost to the point of under-developed), are still real and interesting enough to make you care about the characters involved and what happens, and how those relationships effect the story.
As someone who loves Egyptology as well as historic fiction, I was quite satisfied and entertained by this realistic, romantic, and emotional book, and I would recommend it to anyone who also loves historic novels, and anything have to do with ancient Egypt.

Egyptian Royalty up close
Michelle Moran has brought to life the story of Nefertiti as no one else could. As a reader she draws you into the story of one of Egypts most talked about Queen and her reign with Akhenaten. She fought to become his Queen then fought for their place in history only to be removed by others. Her story is rich with family, triumph, and betrayal told through the eyes of a younger sister.

Moran has done a wonderful job telling Nefertiti's story for all yo read.
