Jawbone II
The sound quality of the Jawbone II is excellent, both sending and receiving. However, the device is difficult to use. There are no external buttons. One has to press one of two areas on the flexible skin in the approximate location identified in the instructions. The two locations are close enough that it frequently responds to the wrong button. When that happens, the phone freezes up and has to be rebooted (turned off and back on) in order to begin the process again.

The "glass" earplug
I thought that Jawbone would be a great addition for my 3G iPhone. The real truth left much to be desired.......especially in the storage area.

First one broke off at the location where the ear bud meets the main body. I had been storing it in a "Motorola" holster since one was not available. Clerk at AT&T store said I should not place it so. Broken in two days. Sooooo....put the set just in a sporran that I wear. Second day broken at ear piece connection.

It has a great tone; people also tell me they hear me better and with lesss noise so it DOES have some positive points. However I could not recommend buying a Jawbone. Price is too high and unit far too "brittle". I am going to try and use my H700 but noted it will pair with the 3G but does not boot up for reception etc.

Hope this helps someone who is "on the fence" Too expensive for a unit that seems made of glass.

Good Potential, Poor Design
I purchased this product because I work in a noisy environment, and thought this would do the trick. It worked fine as far as noise reduction, but fails in the design.

I had problems getting used to the fact that I didn't need to raise my voice to be heard on the phone. I'm having to shout at someone 5 feet away, and then speak normally when on the phone. Hard to get used to, but I was working on it!

This device though, is extremely painful to wear for any length of time. The part behind the earpiece, that rides on the cartilage of my ear has some very nice sharp, pointy corners that get painful after a couple of minutes. I tried all combinations of earpiece & hangar without success. I would have tried the Jabra ear gels that others have recommended except for one other issue.

I use a headset as an occasional device, but this seems to be designed to be worn at all times. I want a device that will turn on when I want it on, not on its own. The power button is extremely easy to depress and turn on. I carry this in a pouch on my belt, and the pressure of the pouch was turning it on when it was in it. I try to answer an incoming call, and find it has gone to the device instead of the phone.

In summary if it fits good, and you're going to wear it all the time, this is a great device, especially in a noisy environment.

Jawbone 2
I was so looking forward to purchsing this item as I had owned the original Jawbone. I was so disappointed when I got it. I could not get any of the ear loops or ear gels to fit my ear. It looked good, but would not stay on my ear so I returned it and went with the Blue Ant Z9i which really fits well.
