this cooler keeps my laptop cool all the time. it's worth the money and better than the plastic ones.

The notebook cooler shipped to me pretty quick and it came in a nice little box of its own. It has a good sturdy feel to it. The USB cord used to connect the power from the computer was somewhat hidden in the packaging, but once I found that, everything went great. The fan has adjustable speed, which is great for when I'm doing more heavy-duty projects or gaming, or I can change it to a lighter setting when I'm just browsing the internet. The laptop stays very cool and this product gets the job done. It is a little more expensive than some other ones, but you are also paying for quality.

I am primarily creating this product review (something I rarely do) in order to support an amazingly excellent product.

The Zalman Notebook Cooler actually lives up to all of the reviews and hype I have heard about it online. Yes, it is a bit pricier than other notebook coolers, but there are reasons for that. It is very important that you seriously consider such a device to protect your laptop, as they will overheat and ultimately burn up their internal components. Using an AC adapter to run the laptop long term (like you would a desktop) or running graphically intensive video or games only accelerates the heat intensity that will kill your laptop as surely as it would your car's engine.

I love the fact that it has an extra USB port so that you can plug your USB hub into it (which used to be plugged into your laptop) and still enjoy the simplicity of one USB connection to plug in or pull out whenever you chose to go mobile. I also love the fan speed control, which can be increased for high-graphic usage or decreased for basic use (and virtually silent operation as described by other reviewers). It even has an on/off button with LED indicator. Best of all is the construction. Durable, sleek, high quality, and it raises/angles the notebook to just the right position for viewing and keyboard access... all without taking up any additional desktop space than the notebook itself might.

The only disadvantages are that the price is pretty high compared to other notebook coolers (but well worth it for the reasons described, particularly the high quality materials/construction) and the fact that it is really only compatible with notebooks under 16" (ideally 15" -15.5").

I use this fan on my 17" notebook. Was worried at first b/c of size difference but it sits flat and haven't had any problems. Definitely was skeptical but am pleasantly surprised and have recommended this product to family and friends. I noticed an improvement in performance and will be purchasing another for another member of household. Also, I like that it has a speed adjustment dial, instead of low/high settings or none at all on other coolers. It came well-packaged and took 5 minutes to unpack and get running.

This is THE best laptop cooler I've bought. Yes, it's a little more expensive than the other ones, but it is so worth paying the extra money. The cooler is so quiet, I usually have to put my hand over the vents to see that it is functioning (and it usually functions really well!). It gives the laptop the cooling that it needed. I have a crap VAIO, and it badly needed one - my laptop cooler's fan has never been on since.

And this product is not made in China - no lead inside.
