Works great for me and my iMac
I have mine hooked up as a Time Machine backup drive to my 20" Aluminum iMac 2007 (320GB internal). Works perfectly so far. I just plugged it in, turned it on, and Mac OS X did the rest automagically. When it is on, it is very quiet. I have standing it on its side so it takes up almost no space, and it is behind my iMac so it is basically invisible. Makes me feel a little silly for choosing a drive that matches the aluminum look of my computer. After it's done backing up, I unmount it and power it down until Mac OS X reminds me to back up (every 10 days). This thing is everything I wanted, and at a great price. 2008-08-29

!!
I love this thing. Reliable, sleek, cheap and so freakin uselful.
The blue light though creeps me out in the middle of the night though.

Smooth Data Transition and Sleek Look
Just what I was looking for. Sleek, compact, and simple to use. Takes some time to copy over large amounts of data. No other problems. 2008-08-28

seemless memeory
I needed more space for photos and music so I just wanted something easy to plug and play. the Iomega did not need any set up and is very easy to use even for a very non-techy person like myself. It interfaces seemlessly with all my photo programs and I have even accessed it from websites to order photos. I turn it off when not in use because my techy nephew told me it would extend the drive's life so I don't have any trouble with overheating. I am pretty sensitive to noise and have never noticed any sound coming from the drive. 2008-08-28

A Nice Drive
I have had this drive for about a month and I have not had any problems with it. Of course, that is not a long time given that it should last several years. The drive does get a little hot, not enough to burn you but enough that it might be a concern for some people. I have my drive sitting vertically on its stand and I have found it to be quieter than my laptop, but it is not going to be so quiet that you will forget it is there. If you want something that quiet, than you should probably look into getting a solid state drive instead of this conventional one.
Overall, this drive has performed as advertised, and I like the blue light and brushed finish.
