Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Earpiece (Black)[Retail Packaged]

I researched all the different ear buds for my iphone and this unit was the highest rated with the most reviews - even above the jawbone. I paid $71 for it and I am VERY pleased with it. It stays in my ear fine and feels comfortable (some people said that it might not), the sound quality is GREAT. This is my third ear bud and far and away the best. My other ones were the Motorola HS850, which works well with the motorola phone, but is clunky and not as good sound quality and the Plantronics 655, which is small and sleek, but the sound is not nearly as good as the 925. I love it when a product over delivers!

This is my first bluetooth headset so I'm unable to compare it to others that are available. My impressions, after a few weeks are;

1. It's not as comfortable as other reviewers indicated but I accept that this is a very personal thing and maybe my ear shape is not 'average'. I find that after wearing it for about 10-15 minutes, it starts to annoy me.

2. Given that I'm not prepared to put it on and leave it on, I am now faced with carrying yet anther device. A bit of a nuisance.

3. Reception for the person that I'm speaking to seems to be a bit average. I've found that I need to speak reasonable loudly for them to hear me clearly and, yes, I have confirmed that I've got the headset positioned corrently.

4. Having said all of that, I still consider that it's a very good device and I'd much rather have the slight inconveniences mentioned above than a brain tumour!

I had the original Jawbone not the newer slimmer one, but it never worked right for me. People always complained about the sound.

This is my second Plantronics, I had a much older and cheaper model which I loved and lost, oh well. So a friend got me this one for my birthday and it's great the sound is excellent, and I've yet to have anyone complain about sounds or quality. Plus it connects to 2 devices which is nice. I have a cell for work and one for home and with this device it's amazing.

The other thing i like is that since there's no arm to fit over you ear, you can ware sunglasses without your ear feeling all jacked up.

I would defiantly recommend it.

The Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset was purchased as a Birthday gift. My requirements, High clarity/quality of spoken word, ease of use, no or extremely low background noise, comfortable to wear, relatively transparent when worn and last but not least affordability.
In all cases this headset met my criteria. After doing considerable research reading technical product review publications as well as numerous consumer feedback/opinions of this headset on-line, plus with it selling at Amazon at an extremely good price. I purchased this headset.

Pro: Met all of my requirements and more! Recipient of this gift was totally satisfied. Excellent voice clarity of the headset (equal to that of using handset). To date, listener can hear no background noise. Extremely easy to pair and use with cell phone (Razor V3xx). Unique design does not look like you are wearing small box on face instead it looks stylish.

Con: None at this time

Buying decision: Well in advance of the date needed and having met my requirements, I placed it in the Amazon shopping cart. At that time the price was $78. I Watched day to day, when price settled at $72 and in line with needed date, I placed the order. Now, the list price is $150, the Amazon discount price is even lower at $70.

Bottom line, Birthday recipient happy and enjoys using headset. Callers are impressed with quality of call. Least used word in any conversation using the Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset is....."What"! All this adds up to a very satisfied Amazon customer.

This is by far the best Bluetooth headset I've used. Having begun my journey in the "moderate" price range, so far I've had the following: a Motorola HS 820 with an extremely finicky multi-function button and a battery that gave up charging within 4 months; a Jabra BT 500 that crackled intensely if the phone was within 6 inches of my body and only worked well if I set the phone on the car seat or a nearby table (I'm guessing that I caused reception interference, but since I tend to keep the phone on my person, this made for a completely unsatisfactory experience); a Planatronics Voyager 510 that would frequently drop the connection to the phone (once during a preliminary job interview); and now this lovely piece.
This unit has given me none of the listed problems. The sound and signal are loud and clear. I no longer have people complain "Are you on your headset again?" In fact, no one can even tell.
