BlueAnt Supertooth 3 Bluetooth Handsfree (Black)

The unit is terrific. Its problem is that sometimes the volume is very hard to hear. I have given several as gifts and they have the same problem. Blue Ant says that is is a reception problem. This is not true. When the volume is good it is terrific.

I have a manual drive sports car and this product is an excellent tool for answering calls and talking on the cell phone without having to take eyes off the road or miss a shift. I bought this STR model following purchase of the original Supertooth. This latest model has great improvements, especially the built in mic and very fast connection to my cell phone. The volume and clarity are outstanding and it does not need charging more often than monthly. It is a great product that I have given as gifts and recommended to others.

If you want to use the BlueAnt 3, be aware that although you can pair it with multiple phones, it only reconnects with the last phone it was connected with. The only way to connect it with the second phone is to use the manual option on the Bluetooth menu of your phone 'connect to BlueAnt 3'

Unfortunately the iPhone does not have this option so you have to re-pair each time a different phone uses the BlueAnt 3. The firmware of the BlueAnt 3 can NOT be upgraded, so they can not fix this bug. The BlueAnt 3 should first look for the last connected phone, if this is not found it should look for previously paired phones. It does not do this.

I bought this product because I wanted the voice-activated feature. The voice activiation does not recognize my voice most of the time, takes three tries, and drops the call. This product is not what I was looking for in a voice-activiated blue tooth hands-free speaker for my blackberry curve.

While all the bells and whistles incorporated into this device are commendable the bottom line is that when operated in a car at freeway speeds the voice quality is garbled and unacceptable both to me and to the person I am speaking to. Can I return this product?
