Won't purchase again!
I have had a number of noise cancelling bluetooth headsets. I previously had the original Jawbone Bluetooth headset which functioned very well other than being too fragile. I'm extremely unhappy with the new version which will not stay in position on or in my ear and therefore provides poor communication (inbound/outbound. My next task it to try to get my money back for this device. Definitely this company has gone the wrong way with their "improved" version.Jawbone Bluetooth Headset with NoiseAssassin-Jawbone 2(Black)[Retail Packaged] 2008-11-26

A learning experience
This headset is unusable. There's no fit, it won't stay in the ear, it falls of in mid-conversation. And there's no apology from the company for the lack of fit (their customer service recommended I return it and buy something else.) Here's the lesson, and if you're reading this, you've already learned it: you can't base a purchase decision on technical reviews alone; you've got to read the customer reviews. The tech press loves this headset. Users hate it because it's unwearable. A lesson learned. 2008-11-25

Noise cancelling was good but sound quality was terrible in regular mode...
I am disappointed with this unit. First of all the buttons are placed in such a way that you are constantly hanging up on people when you are adjusting the headset in your ear.
Audio is terrible in regular mode (hearing other people). It works great in Noise Assassin mode but that mode drains battery power quickly and has to be turned on every time you use it.
Then there is the problem with getting the unit close to your cheek so that the noise cancellation can work correctly. It is a real pain. If your beard is slightly growing in, forget it. It will not work.
The size of the unit was good. The fit in my ear was not that great and hurt my ear after a while. They should have included Jabra ear gels.
While this unit has good technology behind it, the design needs work.

Not worth the $
I'm giving this two stars because when it does work, it works great. (20% of the time) Beside the fitting problem, even when I hold it lightly against my face, the noise cancelation does not always work.
Second problem I have with this is the sound quality. I've had other products that produced a crisper, clearer sound at less then half the price. I don't know why it would sound static during some calls, and clear during others. I am in the same environment, with the same amount of electronics operating around me.

Best bluetooth headset I've used...
I had the original Jawbone and just purchased the Jawbone 2 last week. I really like it - it fits well (I took the ear hook off), the sound quality is great, and it pairs very quickly with my iPhone.
So, here are my relatively minor complaints:
- I wish it used a universal charge plug. Though the charger does has a very slick magnetic attachment, I'd rather it just used a mini or even a micro usb plug so that I don't have to cart around an extra charge.
- I do find the button to talk button to be placed in an inconvenient spot. It's right where you fingers naturally go to adjust the headset for a better fit. So as you're trying to adjust, you often hang up on the call.
- This isn't an issue for me, but some people have complained about the lack of a volume button. Yes, you can turn off the noise reduction feature and then use that button for volume, but it would be better if there was a a rocker button or something on top.
The only other thing, and this isn't a negative so much as just something to think about - even though I feel like the jawbone 2 fits much better than the original, one of my colleagues feels exactly the opposite. So you might want to try it on before you purchase.
All in all though, I have to concur with CNET, which said that this headset is the best bluetooth headset they've reviewed and gave it an editor's choice.
